We just moved from Boulder back to California and have used Mark's exclusively for the last four years. They know nothing about the Internet and they probably don't need the business but I thought I would post this for them. The best "carside" manner my wife and I have ever had and I wish we could find someone like them out here in Silicon Valley before our next service is due -- which is now!

Mark's Auto is owned by Mark Sr. - he was trained in the VW factory in Germany and knows a lot about German cars. These guys service all types of vehicles and if I didn't already have a great mechanic, would take my VW there. We've had problems w/our GMC Jimmy but they've been very thorough in their approaches to problems. Mark Sr. is a straightforward guy and will always explain the problem. Good place, decent prices and right near a bus.

My wife and young children were traveling through Boulder in a Dodge van and noticed a gas smell. I contacted Mark's from another state; they looked at the van quickly; gave my wife reasonable reassurances; and recommended another repair (subsequently made later on the trip); doing so without charge even though they test drove the vehicle and spent some time on the diagnosis. My wife said they were friendly, clean and efficient.

I own a lincoln Navigator which has had a resent problem of "AC" failure. I brought my suv to Grease Monkey, they said I needed a simple recharge. The "AC" worked for three days. So I brought the suv to Midas in Grand Junction Colorado, due to the fact I was on a road trip and that was my only option. Midas stated I had a leak in the "AC" system and it needed Dye and a recharge. So they charged me again to recharge the AC. When I arrived to the Boulder metro area, I brought my suv to Marks Auto, to find the leak. Marks Auto pointed out, there was no leak, no loss of AC charge, and the problem was electrical. Marks Auto, fixed the electric problem and the AC has worked great ever since. Thank you Marks Auto!

We have been taking our vehicles to Mark's for 10 years. In fact I have never had to return a car there for the same problem. They are honest, reliable, and they fix it correctly. Very highly recommended.

Everyone at Mark's does go out of their way to explain any necessary repairs/options on a consistent basis. This is an efficiently run, dedicated, family owned business.

Known / trusted for 22 years for work on various makes of cars. Same competent mechanics there for some 20 years. Travel some 45 miles to get to. Would not consider any other shop to employ, period.

I have taken all out vehicles (3) to Mark's for nearly 10 years. They are the best repair shop I have ever worked with. They always identify a problem (often before it is major) and fix it right the first time. I have never brought a vehicle back for the same problem. Customer service is excellent as is the quality of their work. I can not recommend them enough.

I have had all our vehicles (Jeep, Chevy Corvette, Mazda, Dodge, Toyota, BMW) serviced at Mark's for nearly 10 years. I have never had to return a car for the same problem twice. They are very capable, honest, and the quality of their work is fantastic.

Mark and Mark Jr. run one of the best shops I've encountered. The mechanics are career oriented and it shows in their work - skilled, professional and very thorough. Everyone in the shop is willing to communicate and there is a definite openness that is too often missing in the auto repair biz these days. I've had my less than pristine, old, beater Dodge in the shop for a variety of old age related troubles and I have met no resistance when explaining my price pain threshhold when confronted with a repair. They know what I want out of the old car and have made sure the repairs fit my budget. On the other hand, these guys also work on my pride and joy and have been equally attentive to any concern I might have about a top quality repair for my baby. I recommend these guys to everyone - car crazy high end folks or starving artist Datsun B210 types - either end of the spectrum will get treated well by this shop. Now that I think about it , seems to me the same mechanics have been there for over 10 years! That alone speaks volumes about the shops environment.

I have been using Mark's Auto for the last 15 years during which time they have worked on everything from my vintage e- type to my several audis. They have had the same mechanics and office help, all are great and competent. I have even sold Mark one of my cars and bought one through him. The only time they screwed up a repair (bolts were not torqued down on a water pump repair) he paid for the towing charges and the garage charges to get the car fixed a long way away and then he re-did the repair himself to ensure that it was right. He's the best in Boulder.

My 2000 Subaru's air conditioning system was blowing out room temp. air so I took it to a dealer but they seemed to be giving me the run-around. They told me I needed all kinds of diagnostic work done, etc. and they told me I had to pay $50 just to have the car looked at. So I called Mark's and they said that they would look at my car for free. They also quoted me a price much more reasonable than the dealership did. Thanks Mark's!

I drive all over the country and rely on my 1999 Tahoe to get me there. It has over 200,000 miles and needed a tune- up, brakes, and tires... amoung other things. They did a great job while I was in Boulder attending a conference. They gave me a list of things it needed, and got everything done when they said they would. They probably are not the least expensive in town, but they do quality work.

Mark Jr., Mark Sr., Mike and Clyde are GREAT!!! They are hard working, honest and reliable. They are a lot fun, know their stuff and keep things light. They rebuilt my Diesel Scout and it runs great! They have also done work on my Montero Diesel conversion. Hard to get parts and still they do it all in a timely manner!! I will never take my car anywhere else!

Our rental car (new) broke down in front of their shop. Mark, the second generation owner of the shop came out and asked, "Having a problem?" He test drove the car - it stalled for him as well and determined we needed to obtain another rental car. We were on vacation, July, 2008, and it was during a heat wave in Boulder. They provided ice cold drinks for our kids, without asking, and let us camp out in their AC office while we waited for a replacement car. Mark noticed my son's Duke hat. Mark, in his younger days, was a high school all American who went to Coach K's b-ball summer camp. We met the whole family. Honest, helpful, kind and generous. They got nothing from us in the way of repair work since we had a renatl car. They were concerned for health and well being. What a great experience. Thank you Mark Jurkiewicz. We sincerely appreciate it. John, Kate, Lucy, Gordon and Margaret.

Mark's is slightly expensive...that said, everything is fixed, everything works, and you never have to take the vehicle back for the same issue. They are very good about fixing cars with vehicle emission problems, going so far as to get the vehicle inspected as part of the service. We have two cars, a Ford Courier 1973 and a Mercedez-Benz 300 CD 1981. The Ford Courier provided my first experience with Mark's and they fixed the emissions problem perfectly. I gave up on my previous shop for the Mercedez and took it to Mark's. They have fixed the problems that were a constant source of irritation that the previous shop always had to fix two or three times. Yes, I am a biased customer because they are so good.

Pricing is reasonable. The shop is VERY thorough so one often gets a long list of items that will need attention over time. They are then very helpful in setting the priorities for the work to be done.

I've been going here for years. I started as a newcomer to the area on a recommendation from a coworker. It's time I pass the recommendation along. They really know their stuff. I had beginning drivers using my car and I needed to totally trust that the vehicle was at its best. I always felt safe with this team of mechanics. I wouldn't know how to answer the question about how they handle a mistake. As far as I know, there hasn't been one (and the first place I tried in the area messed up big and actually tried to cover up with SuperGlue, no lie).

I think everyone that lives in or near Boulder, CO, is very lucky to have such a good mechanic right in town. I live in Florida and drive my Chevy Tahoe loaded with equipment for work all over the country. While in Texas early this year, I heard and felt a vibration noise in the front end. When I got back to Florida I took the truck into what is supposed to be one of the better mechanics in town. They had the truck as long as they wanted and said there was nothing wrong. For the next couple of months I took it back to them three times, and they never found the problem. Fortunately, my next work trip was scheduled for CO, and, luckily, the truck and I made it to Mark's. They were able to find the problem with the front axle and did a great job fixing it. This is the second time I have taken the truck to Mark's, and both times they have done an excellent job. My thanks to Mark, his dad, and everyone who works there. They probably aren't the least expensive repair shop in Boulder, but if you want it fixed right the first time, take it to Mark's. I wish I lived closer!

"Getting it done right the first time" I have taken my cars to Mark's Auto in Boulder Colorado for over 10 years. We all hear so many stories about someone taking their car in several times for the same repair, while maybe getting stuck with having to get something else fixed which wasn't diagnosed properly from the start. Maybe a second something else comes up--in short, many people feel they don't get straight answers about the repairs their car needs for a variety of reasons which may range from lack of thoroughness to a gray area 'upsell strategy'. This gives them no confidence in that particular shop's ability to do the job right. The thing I respect most about Mark's is the fact that they are so thorough in their work (trouble-shooting or repair)from the start, that you never have to worry about going back a few more times just to fix the original problem. They are forthright in describing what it will take to fix your car, up-front about pricing, expert at their work, and maintain a level of customer service (including a free shuttle!)which is becoming all too rare in this or any other industry. Customer testimonials are the strongest form of endorsement for any business. The walls of their office are covered with letters of thanks from customers who have been going there a lot longer than I have. Seeing those letters when I first brought my car in made it an easy choice. If you live anywhere in the Boulder or the Denver Metro area, it would be to your car's advantage to go to Mark's Auto.

Always have had good service at Mark's Auto in Boulder, CO. The repairs were completed in the time they said, and the estimated costs are accurate. They protected the interior floor mats from grease with covers, and even washed the car and all the windows without being asked or at any extra charge.

With 3 kids and thus multiple cars, I am glad to have finally found a shop I trust. Once my oil cap broke just before a trip to the mountains. I called and asked if they could get it off so I could add a quart before the trip. They not only got it off but had a new cap waiting for me when I arrived, and topped off my oil for me. Little things like this make me glad I go to Marks

Marks Auto always provides dependable service, and does a completely thorough job of checking out all that is going on with my vehicles. Mark is always willing to provide insight into what should be dealt with right away and what can wait. The work that the shop has done for my car has been excellent. Mark provides quick, responsive personal service when responding to e-mails or questions, and is always friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Mark's Auto serviced my Jeep Wrangler (70,000 miles) and my wife's Subaru Forester (30,000 miles). We tried Mark's because we had not been particularly impressed with service from our dealerships, and a friend recommended Mark's after bringing his old Dodge Ram to Mark's for a bunch of maintenance that no one else would/could do. Mark's is thorough. They fix what needs fixing and don't try to "rip you off". Their mechanics are top-notch professionals who really know their stuff. Mark's is not the cheapest service in town, but they're fair and honest, and the peace of mind is worth every penny. We trust these guys with our vehicles, and they go above and beyond to make us happy.

First time customer. Mark Jr. knows his stuff. Really cared about the problem. Suggested other needed mechanical issues. Repaired issues promptly. My Cadillac rides and performs like new. Marks Auto Service now has a new and pleased customer. Thanks Mark.

Mark's has done everything from a oil change to a major repair. Always the highest quality of work done every time. And when they say it's going to be done, It's done. It's great to have a shop of this caliber so close. Thanks Mark!

I was pointed to Mark's Auto by a co-worker shortly after I had moved to Boulder and was looking for an trustworthy mechanic. I have been nothing but very happy with the work that Mark and Mark have performed on my vehicle. I had multiple issues with my Jeep before I started going to Mark's, a combination of purchasing from a shady used car dealer, and a poor first choice for a mechanic. In the year and a half I've been going to Mark's, I haven't had a single issue with my Jeep. While they are not the cheapest mechanic in Boulder, they are definitely well worth the cost. They spend the time to discuss what your car needs and what issues it has, and I've never felt pressured to do any maintenance. In addition, they generally have the same mechanic look at your car, which seems to help with receiving consistent advice on maintenance (other mechanics I've gone to have given me different stuff I need to fix every time, regardless of whether I fixed it last time.) Also, Mark's focuses on recommending higher quality parts, which I believe has led to better longevity. I'm very happy with the service at Mark's, and hope to continue going there for a long time.

These guys are serious mechanics. Just one look at their work bays and you will see they take a lot of pride in their work. They love their craft. For me, having grown up in Miami and the dodgy mechanics down there, I needed peace of mind knowing that my mechanic was serious and was not going to pull one over on me. Family run for years. Old school values. Hard to find these days.

Called in 5 hours before my afternoon cross-country trip. Took the time to take a look at my "weird sound" and found the problem in about an hour. More than fair diagnostic fees. Spoke to 3 staff members individually and all were very helpful and understanding. This was a random one-time stop, if I come back to Boulder, these are definitely my auto repair guys.

My experience with these fine folks at Marks Auto was fantastic! When I first came into their shop, I was in a serious bind. Mark Jr. took special time away from what he was doing to look into the specifics of my situation. Over the week or so my car was in his care, he took time to discuss with me in detail everything that was happening with my vehicle, several different times. He took excellent care of me! I highly recommend these amazing people. The job they did on my car was superb!!! Thanks again Mark, from the bottom of my heart.

I bring my 2006 Range Rover Sport to Mark's ever since the warranty expired, and he has always gone the extra mile for me whether repairing a tire or a full brake job. I've referred many people to him and they've all said that they were very happy with the work, prices and honesty. I've also compared his costs to the dealership and others and have never found them to be more expensive. I like the personalized service the most, Mark always gives me all my options and fully explains the scenarios. I'm an educated consumer who does not like to get ripped off or taken advantage of, and if that ever happened to me, I'd be the 1st to complain.. Mark's is a solid place to bring your ride!
